Kelly Kryczka began synchro swimming at the Calgary Glencoe Club and then moved on to train with the Calgary Aquabelles. In 1977, she was on the team that won the Junior Canadian Championships and she also won gold in solo and duet competitions. Kelly Kryczka swam with the silver medal teams at the Nationals and Pan American Games in 1979 in senior competitions. She and Helen Vanderburg earned gold in duet at the Nationals, silver at the Pan American Games, and gold at the World Championship at the Federation Internationale De Natation Amateur Cup in 1979. Kelly Kryczka won the solo and duet events at the Canadian Championships in 1980.

Since induction:

In 1982 Kelly’s swimming career reached its peak with two World Championship Titles and ended in 1984 with a Silver Medal at the Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In all she won one Olympic Silver Medal, two gold and one silver at the World Aquatic Championships, two gold and one silver at the Pan American Games and four gold and two silver at the Pan Pacific Championships. Kelly Kryczka was inducted in the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 1996.
