Remembering Honoured Member Carol Kyle

Carol Kyle, who was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame as a track and field builder in 2000, passed away on January 21 at the age of 84.

Carol was a founding member of the Calgary Track and Field Club. The club started the resurgence of track and field in Calgary after WWII. Carol was involved in coaching and running the club for twelve years before moving on to officiating, achieving Grade Five International Level in vertical jumps. She officiated at local, provincial, and high-profile national and international meets - including the 1976 Olympic Games, 1978 and 1994 Commonwealth Games, 1993 Pan Am Games, and the 1983 and 1997 World Games. Carol was Alberta Officials Chairman from 1976 to 1980.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
